Game Designer

Game Designers at Fresh Planet are responsible for creating the player experience. This means working with producers, programmers, visual designers, and others on a project team to conceptualize, structure, and polish every aspect of a game title.

Your responsibilities:

  • creating design documents, flowcharts, and other documentation
  • creating detailed wireframes of the interactive structure of a game
  • designing in-game economies, game levels, and other numerical elements and balancing them through iterative testing
  • spearheading the creation of game content and narratives
  • writing in-game text, dialog, and other textual content elements
  • input on the visual and audio components of a game
  • leading playtesting efforts and taking part in the bugtesting process
  • taking part in the generation of new concepts

Your profile:

  • experience as game designers or interactive designers
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • strong analytic skills and the ability to think structurally
  • storytelling skills and a refined aesthetic sensibility
  • good teamwork and collaboration skills and experience
  • sensitivity and interest in designing games for a broad audience
  • knowledge about social network and online games, multiplayer play, and virtual item revenue models
  • comfort with a range of digital tools, from process management software to illustration and flowchart programs to spreadsheets and word processing
  • a longstanding passion for playing and making games
  • cultural interests outside of games
